SUMMARY:Live Irish Music at the Vineyard
DESCRIPTION:Join us for some great live music and a little jig in the Tasting Room and on the patio! Gioia dell’Amore is honored to host The Almost Irish Band (TIAB) on Sunday\, April 16th from 2:00 to 5:00. \nEveryone is headed for a fun time when The Almost Irish Band does the entertaining!  The group\, from the region near Mount Airy NC\, does a great job presenting both vocal and instrumental music in several styles.  As the name might imply\, the main type of music they do is Celtic\, notably Irish and Scottish music.  It’s a “fun” type of Celtic\, with lots of singing\, interspersed with lively fiddle tunes and—nearly always—a few surprises.  Their type of Celtic is reminiscent of the sounds made in the folk revival of the 60s and 70s\, especially the songs from Ireland’s famous “The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem.” \nThe program is always delightful in its sheer variety.  The band mixes in some old time music\, some folk\, and occasionally even a sea shanty\, a bluegrass number\, or an original song.  Different people are featured as lead singer\, and the band members are multi-instrumentalists.  The shows are filled with exciting fiddle tunes\, the unique and haunting sounds of the hammered dulcimer\, lively music from the penny whistles\, and solid rhythm from the guitar.  These things fit hand-in-glove with the great vocals\, and you’ll always hear lots of right-on-spot harmony. \nThe group also does a lot of “oldies\,” which in this case means things like music from The Beatles\, Simon & Garfunkle\, The Everly Brothers\, and many other artists that were enjoyed in the 50s\, 60\, and 70s. \nOf course we will be pairing the heel tapping music with our wine and beer selections\, and we will have the wine slushy machine up and going for the afternoon. \nHope to see you then\, David & Laura

SUMMARY:Stewart Coley Live\, BBQ and Blanket Ladder Building
DESCRIPTION:We will be hosting a fun spring event on April 23rd including live music\, BBQ\, and a unique woodworking class where we will build and stain a blanket ladder. \nRust and Root will be conducting the woodworking class in the barrel room from 1:00 to 3:00. Pre-registration is required and space is limited. You can register for the class directly with artists Mel and Keith here. The $50 dollar registration fee includes all materials\, assembly guidance and a stain of your choice. \nStewart Coley’s music will begin at 2:30 in the tasting room. One of our crowd favorites\, Stewart will be charming the crowd with an amazing variety of songs covering genres from classic rock artist like Elton John\, The Doobie Brothers\, Eagles and more to contemporary 80’s & 90’s country from Garth Brooks to Diamond Rio and classics from Merle Haggard and others. Live music will be from 2:30 to 5:30. \nBearded BBQ will be serving up their smokey best from 1:00 to 5:00. What began as a Father’s Day gift of a smoker has blossomed into a top-notch Eastern NC style BBQ truck you may know from reputation as Bearded BBQ. Veteran-owned and -operated\, this BBQ trailer specializes in fresh\, high-quality\, Boston butts\, smoked over cherry wood for 10 hours. It’s about as fine a BBQ as you can enjoy\, on a sandwich\, on a plate\, or over nachos. \nOf course we will be serving up the vino and beer to make your day complete. We are currently featuring local beers from Red Oak (both Amber and Hummingbird)\, Pernicious IPA\, and Foothills Jade IPA. We also have the classic beers to pair with your BBQ as well as our selection of wines. Oh\, and let’s not forget the wine slushies! \nWant to stay on property after living it up for the event? You can book one of our cabins on our web page under Stay. \nWe hope to see you for some great eats\, music and laughter (and hopefully some dancing?) on Sunday\, April 23rd from 1:00 to 6:00! \nScatter Joy! SUMMARY:Lu'au Dinner and Show benefiting the Barry Joyce Local Cancer Support Fund
DESCRIPTION:https://magictable.app/gioia/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Sequence-ShortFacebook_1_1.mp4\n  \n \nThis traditional Hawaiian Luau will begin with a traditional lei greeting with live ukulele music. Enjoy Mai Tai wine slushies (and other beverages) on the patio. The evening will feature a Hawaiian themed dinner and two shows on the lawn\, a hula show at sunset and fire dancing later in the evening. We will also be holding a silent auction and all profits from the event will support the Barry Joyce Local Cancer Support Fund. \nThe show will be performed by Hula Carolina who brings the idyllic Hawaiian islands to you\, giving you the experience of a lifetime. The intense Fire Show\, exquisite Hula Dancers and lively Luau Party will demonstrate Hula Carolina’s deep gratitude for the Hawaiian culture as they strive to pass the traditions on by way of song and dance. See what to expect that evening by watching this video on our home page. During the shows we invite you to learn a hula\, spin the poi balls of New Zealand and dance to the live drums of Tahiti. You will love moving around with the Hula Dancers. It is something quite fun for everyone to let loose and try! \nThe $85 ticket (early bird rate of $75 each by March 31st) includes the lei greeting\, two drinks\, dinner\, both shows\, the silent auction and most importantly supports a wonderful cause! The Barry L. Joyce Local Cancer Support Fund is local people helping local people. This fund was created to provide financial resources to cancer victims in need and help and covers pharmacy bills\, utilities\, auto\, gas and food expenses\, so patients can focus on the challenge of beating cancer: https://bljcancerfund.org/. \nGioia dell’Amore Cellars’ owners\, David and Laura\, are honored to be hosting this fundraising event as it is the perfect pairing to their founding story. The birth of Gioia dell’Amore Cellars began with Laura’s sister\, Julie\, who had a vision for the two couples to start a winery. Unfortunately\, Julie lost her battle with ovarian cancer before the dream could be realized. David and Laura purchased the vineyard in September 2021 to carry out the dream they envisioned with Julie and her husband\, Dave. \nWe hope you will join us to support local cancer patients in our community and to Scatter Joy with your friends and family at this unique event on April 29th from 5:00 to 10:00.
